Do you experience stigma or discrimination because of your LGBT+ status?
• Do you work with people identifying as LGBT+?
• Are you interested to find out how to access support or support someone from the LGBT+ community?
Stigma and discrimination within society as a whole negatively impacts the mental health of LGBT+ people.
At Mind, we believe we should all look out for one another’s mental health, especially when we know that some of us suffer higher levels of discrimination and isolation.
This workshop explores relevant issues for LGBT+ people, including how to access support and raise awareness and understanding. Join this FREE workshop to develop your own awareness, skills and knowledge and your ability to support yourself and/or others.

What is the new Adults (18+) Health Passport? It allows patients and carers to help staff identify and understand their particular needs and to treat them accordingly. The passport is particularly helpful for those unplanned or emergency trips to hospital as it should be completed in advance and brought in with the patient.
The event is taking place on Monday, 17th December 2018 10.00am to 13.00 at Harrow Civic Centre.

We have been out and about around the borough - meeting with local residents, carers and families, and also with staff and managers at health and social care services.
A topic we have heard much about is mental health, from ability to access services, to raising mental health awareness within our community.
To explore this further, our next forum will be an opportunity for local people to talk about mental health services, issues and awareness.
This two hour event features guest speakers, round table discussions and a survey on known local issues and challenges.

Ami (pronounced as in the French for Friend) is a website with the mission to reduce loneliness and social isolation by encouraging people to offer support to those around them, whatever their age, who may be lonely.
Around 1100 people are using Ami in Oxford and it is being launched in Hertfordshire and Surrey in the next couple of months.
